Liverpool John Moores University to Host 'Mastering Shipbuilding Management' Course in June 2024
SMI member Liverpool John Moores University is set to conduct a comprehensive 'Mastering Shipbuilding Management' course from the 24th to the 28th of June, 2024. The course is designed to cater to the needs of both shipbuilders and shipbuilding customers/stakeholders. This educational initiative is a response to the increasing economic activity in shipbuilding and the evident demand for educational support that aligns with the objectives of the National Shipbuilding Strategy.

Cammell Laird to Build First New Mersey Ferry in 60 Years

The Birkenhead facility, part of the APCL group, has put pen to paper with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority on a deal which will see the new vessel designed and built exclusively on-site.
Maritime UK has launched Version 7 of the Industry Code of Practice for Maritime Autonomous Ship Systems
The rapid advancement in maritime autonomy has led to the need for updated guidance for those who own and operate Maritime Autonomous Ship Systems (MASS). Although it is not a legal document, the Code has been adopted by manufacturers, service providers, and others as part of their daily work. Several manufacturers have reported that their clients require compliance with the Code for contractual negotiations.
