2019 Annual Review
The focus of this year’s edition is 'digitalistion' which ties in very well to the creation of SMI's Digital Technology Group. In recent years there has been an increase in remote and autonomous operations within the maritime sector. This has prompted SMI and member companies to look into this issue. It is important to be cautious and aware of the cyber risks that companies could face.
The 2019 edition includes articles from:
MarRI-UK – ‘An introduction’
University of Plymouth – ‘The convergence of IT/OT and the security implications’
Autonaut– ‘Just how smart does a marine autonomous systems have to be’
OceanWise – ‘Can digitalisation deliver smart port operations’
Inmarsat UK – ‘Reality check for digitalisation in shipping’
CyberOwl – ‘Collaborating across the supply chain to deliver cyber-secure maritime systems’
