OWGP Seeks Industry Leaders to Power Offshore Wind Supply Chain Growth

The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) is looking to add three senior-level interim roles to help shape the future of the UK’s offshore wind sector. These 12-month assignments come with flexible working hours (22.5–37.5 hours/week) and competitive day rates, offering an excellent opportunity for highly experienced professionals to make a tangible impact at a pivotal time for the industry.
As OWGP transitions into its new role as the Industrial Growth Plan (IGP) Delivery Body, it is strengthening its internal capabilities to support the UK’s offshore wind supply chain. OWGP is seeking to appoint an Industrial Strategy Manager, an Investments Manager, and a Supply Chain Development Manager, each role offering the chance to shape major industry initiatives and collaborate with key stakeholders across the sector.
These roles are ideal for senior professionals with extensive experience in offshore wind and a drive to contribute to meaningful, long-term industrial transformation.
Industrial Development Strategy Manager (Interim)
Play a central role in shaping the UK’s offshore wind industrial strategy. This interim leadership role will interpret and evolve the Industrial Growth Plan, working with stakeholders across industry and government to ensure OWGP’s activities align with national priorities. Ideal for a strategic thinker with deep offshore wind expertise and a strong grasp of industrial policy.
Investments Manager (Interim)
Lead the charge in unlocking capital for UK offshore wind supply chain growth. This interim role will design and implement investment processes, build relationships with key funders, and coordinate financing strategies for high-impact projects aligned with the Industrial Growth Plan. Ideal for a commercially astute investment professional with a passion for renewables and deep experience in project finance.
Supply Chain Development Manager (Interim)
Help shape the future of the UK’s offshore wind supply chain. This interim role will lead the development of a national supply chain strategy aligned with the Industrial Growth Plan, working closely with industry and government to drive investment readiness and accelerate project delivery. Ideal for a commercially minded industry expert with deep offshore wind experience.
Who they're looking for
These interim positions are designed for highly experienced professionals equipped to take on strategic leadership roles and are already familiar with the challenges, pace, and potential of the sector. Each role demands the ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that will directly influence national industrial strategy and investment.
OWGP is seeking individuals who bring:
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in a relevant role (see individual role descriptions for details).
- A proven track record of senior-level leadership, strategic planning, and delivery within a complex stakeholder environment.
- Deep domain expertise in the relevant professional area: industrial strategy, capital project financing or supply chain development, depending on the specific role.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, from engaging government bodies to industry developers, funders, and supply chain companies.
- A proactive, analytical, and innovative mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with practical, results-oriented delivery.
Why work with OWGP
OWGP remains committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, where varied perspectives drive innovation and success. Applications are welcomed from individuals of all backgrounds, including those with protected characteristics such as gender, race, and sexual orientation.
While not all candidates may meet every listed requirement, OWGP encourages applications from individuals who believe they have the skills and potential to thrive in the role.
The values of collaboration, integrity, excellence, and innovation remain central to OWGP as it transitions to become the IGP Delivery Body. This is a pivotal moment for both OWGP and the wider offshore wind sector, and a unique opportunity to join a passionate team committed to shaping the industry’s future with purpose and impact.
If you believe you are the right candidate to help shape the future of the offshore wind supply chain, please send your CV and Cover Letter to info(at)owgp.org.uk and reference the job title you are applying for in the subject line of your email. The deadline for submissions is 5pm Friday 23rd May 2025. Start dates for these roles are projected for early July.
