Industry Engagement Day at Port Talbot
The Society of Maritime Industries is pleased to invite you to join the Industry Engagement Day at Port Talbot. The event represents an invaluable networking opportunity and an excellent opportunity to gain an insight into the organisation and structure of one of the UK’s principal ports and to see it in operation.
ABP has recently unveiled a new vision Future Ports: Port Talbot which announced extensive plans for Port Talbot, that will transform it into the epicentre for floating offshore wind in Wales and the Celtic Sea.
There are several business aspects of the vision which will be of interest to our visit:
- How the port is positioning itself for a technological revolution in floating offshore wind, energy generation & supply.
- Its vision for carbon capture, utilisation & storage and hydrogen.
- How the port plans to create efficient, low carbon logistic supply chains.
ABP have also launched a Freeport bid consortium consisting of ABP, Neath Port Talbot Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and the Port of Milford Haven to explore the case for a green freeport in South-West Wales. Both Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire have exciting, shared opportunities for nationally significant energy infrastructure to support the development of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, hydrogen and sustainable fuels.
