Valeport Confirms Expansion Amid Rapid Global Growth

In a strategic move to meet the demands of the global market, Valeport, one of the leading UK manufacturers of oceanographic and hydrographic instrumentation, has unveiled ambitious expansion plans. This comes as the company experiences robust growth and heightened demand for its precision probes and sensors.
The company's expansion strategy includes a significant increase in its workforce and the acquisition of additional facilities in the southwest UK. Valeport's headquarters now encompass an impressive 44,000 square feet, spread across three state-of-the-art waterfront buildings.
The latest addition to Valeport's infrastructure is Radcliffe House, a riverside building adjacent to their existing premises. This new facility will primarily house the company's office-based staff, freeing up the entire Sandquay Building for Valeport Water and Valeport Service operations.
As part of its commitment to sustained growth, Valeport has welcomed new employees across various departments, including the Machine Shop, Product Assembly, R&D, and Service divisions. The company has also made investments in apprenticeship programmes, emphasising its dedication to long-term skills development.
With over five decades of experience in serving the subsea sector, Valeport is currently capitalising on buoyant markets, particularly in ROV and survey operations for applications in the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. Matt Quartley, Valeport's Managing Director, expressed confidence in the expansion plans, stating, "The increase in our manufacturing capacity and new staff to support our expansion plans puts us very much on the front foot."
In addition to acquiring Radcliffe House, Valeport has initiated a refurbishment project that includes the installation of solar panels on the roof. This newly upgraded facility now houses departments such as Sales, Marketing, R&D, HR, and Finance, providing additional space for expanding production facilities within the existing Sandquay Building.
Further enhancements to Valeport's existing buildings, including improved thermal efficiency through the replacement of the Sandquay Building roof, have been made possible by the acquisition of Radcliffe House.
Valeport's expansion initiative demonstrates its commitment to meeting global demand while maintaining its position as a leader in premium precision sensor technology. The company's headquarters in southwest UK continue to evolve, positioning Valeport for continued success on the international stage.
