UK Trade Mission to Turkey

Helen Stephen and a group of six SMI CMG member companies have recently returned from a successful UK Trade Mission to Turkey to strengthen relationships across the Turkish maritime and shipbuilding sector.

Supported by the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, British Consulate,  Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) and Turkish Chamber Of Shipping members enjoyed an exceptionally productive and full, 3-day programme including shipyard visits to Desan, Cemre, Uzmar and Bogazici, meet the buyer sessions, capability presentations and networking receptions.

Relationships were strengthened, new connections established and all participants now have a much greater understanding of the opportunities to collaborate more closely in the future.

Noel Tomlinson, who attended the Mission on behalf of BMT said;
