Truflo Marine Announced as Platinum Sponsor for the SMI Conference 2026

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is pleased to announce Truflo Marine as Platinum Sponsor of the SMI Conference 2026, which will take place on 17 February 2026 at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology and Innovation Centre in Glasgow.
The SMI Conference brings together senior figures from industry, government and the wider maritime community to examine the strategic, technical and regulatory issues shaping the future of the UK maritime sector, while supporting open dialogue, collaboration and the exchange of insight across the industry.
Truflo Marine supplies high-performance valves for mission-critical naval systems, tailored to the demanding requirements of submarines and surface ships. Its portfolio spans applications where precise control, high flow capability, and rapid shut-off are essential to safety, availability, and operational performance. With more than 150,000 valves installed across 37 navies worldwide, Truflo Marine is recognised for engineering excellence, reliability and innovation.
The company continues to invest in technologies that directly address operator priorities, including its Acoustic Control Vantage (ACV) solution for the management of fluid-borne noise, alongside advanced manufacturing and test capabilities aligned to stringent naval standards. Truflo Marine is also strengthening regional resilience through the establishment of an Australian production facility, supporting sovereign objectives with local manufacture, qualification and through-life sustainment, underpinned by global engineering expertise.
Commenting on the announcement, Tom Chant MBE, Chief Executive of the Society of Maritime Industries, said: “We are pleased to announce Truflo Marine as a Platinum Sponsor of the SMI Conference 2026. Their leadership in delivering high-performance, mission-critical technologies for naval platforms, combined with a clear commitment to innovation, resilience and through-life support, strongly aligns with the themes at the heart of the conference. We look forward to welcoming the Truflo Marine team to the event and thank them for their support.”
Reflecting on Truflo Marine’s involvement in the SMI Conference, the company highlighted the importance of engaging with industry partners to address the operational and industrial challenges facing naval programmes.
Chris Richards, Sales Director, Truflo Marine said:
“Naval programs demand partners who combine uncompromising reliability with practical innovation. At Truflo Marine, we design and qualify high-performance valves for the most demanding environments – where precise control, high flow, and rapid shutoff are non-negotiable. We’re investing in technologies that directly improve fleet availability and stealth, including our Acoustic Control Vantage (ACV) innovation. We’re also scaling capabilities to support sovereign manufacturing and through-life support where our customers operate.
Our focus is simple: deliver engineering that stands up to real-world naval conditions, backed by responsive support and transparent collaboration. Whether on submarines or surface ships, our goal is to help operators reduce maintenance burden, improve resilience, and keep platforms mission-ready. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to – and the promise we make to every customer who chooses Truflo Marine.”
The SMI Conference 2026 will feature a programme of panel discussions, interactive sessions and networking opportunities, providing delegates with the chance to engage with peers and explore developments across the UK and international maritime landscape.
