SpecTec gears up for growth
SpecTec is the company behind AMOS™, the maritime industry’s leading asset management software. The business now has a new look and feel following a major brand refresh. That’s just the first part of a long-term investment, aimed at re-establishing the organization’s position as the premier choice for marine asset management.
The new look is built around a rejuvenated brand promise of ‘powerful asset management powered by people’, designed to highlight the knowledge and experience of the team behind their technology. With fresh new colors and an evolution of the familiar sail logo, it brings a revitalized feel to SpecTec, which next year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The company was originally founded in Oslo in 1985, with a vision to revolutionize and automate maintenance management on-board vessels. That vision became AMOS™, the worlds’ first computerized maintenance management system specifically for the Maritime Industry – and today it remains one of the most popular asset management systems.
Having led the market for several decades the company wanted to showcase its commitment to continued improvement and innovation and decided the time was right to refresh their brand, creating a platform for a bright future.
CEO Adam Dennett, a man with extensive experience in specialist software businesses who joined SpecTec earlier in the year, explains. “The history of SpecTec is remarkable, one of innovation and market-leading technology transforming the maritime industry. Now we want to reaffirm our place as the leader in our field, and our brand refresh is just the start. Very soon we’ll be introducing a number of exciting new innovations and partnerships to help shape the future of our industry, on a global scale, and take an active role addressing key business challenges, such as sustainability and helping to influence regulation. As a first step, we’re now proud members of the Society of Maritime Industries.”
The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is the trade association for the UK’s maritime engineering, science and technology community, supporting their members to raise their profile, enjoy meaningful collaborations and provide business and networking opportunities.
On welcoming SpecTec to his organization, SMI CEO Tom Chant said: “We are delighted to welcome SpecTec to the SMI community. Their expertise and innovation in the maritime technology sector align perfectly with our mission to drive growth and excellence within the industry. As a new member, SpecTec will have the opportunity to collaborate with a network of leading maritime companies, contributing to and benefiting from the collective knowledge and resources that SMI offers. We look forward to supporting their continued success and working together to advance the maritime industry.”
