SpecTec Appoints New Chief Product Officer

SpecTec, a market leading maritime technology company specialising in asset management software, has announced the appointment of Garry Clarke as Chief Product Officer (CPO) to spearhead and lead the next phase of product innovation and delivery. This strategic leadership role will focus on further strengthening SpecTec’s product strategy, ensuring alignment with customer and industry needs, and supporting the company’s wider growth ambitions.
As Chief Product Officer, Garry Clarke will focus on developing SpecTec’s product market fit to ensure that new solutions are designed to help customers solve the challenges they face in effectively managing the efficient, safe, and sustainable operation of their vessels. The appointment reinforces SpecTec’s commitment to building trusted, intuitive, and scalable products that directly contribute to commercial and operational success in the maritime sector.
With more than a decade of experience leading SaaS product teams across fintech, mobility, logistics, and regulated industries, Garry brings a proven track record of building impactful products that solve real-world challenges. His expertise in turning customer insight into solutions that deliver value quickly and predictably, will be instrumental in driving SpecTec’s mission to create products that consistently deliver measurable and tangible outcomes for customers.
Commenting on the appointment, Adam Dennett, CEO of SpecTec, said:
“Our customers depend on us to deliver solutions that work seamlessly in their complex operations and within an industry that is evolving and transitioning at pace. Strengthening our leadership with a dedicated Chief Product Officer highlights our commitment to investing in product excellence, ensuring that we continue to listen to our customers, collaborate with our partners and adapt and deliver accordingly. This appointment marks an important milestone in our journey as we rapidly scale SpecTec’s impact across the industry.”
Garry Clarke, SpecTec’s new Chief Product Officer stated:
“I’m genuinely excited to be joining SpecTec at such a pivotal moment. The momentum across the business is real, and there is a clear opportunity to focus in, listen deeply to our customers, and deliver solutions that make an immediate difference. In a sector that underpins and drives global trade, building products that are trusted, intuitive, and valuable from day one is a responsibility I’m proud to take on.”
The appointment signals SpecTec’s commitment to driving innovation and is aligned with the company’s principle of investing 25% of its operating profit in Research and Development. In addition, the appointment continues the strategy of bringing knowledge and insight into the leadership team from multiple, dynamic, fast-paced industries outside of shipping, complementing the significant maritime expertise within the business. This follows the recent appointment of Tom Davy as Director of Customer Success and will support the process of developing the company’s customer value proposition and continuing to build solutions that support the future of global shipping.
