Solar Solve's Sucess with South Korea Continues
During a fantastic first 2 months of 2020, South Shields based Solar Solve Marine declared that amongst the exceptional number of orders received during January and February, were contracts to supply a total of 524 of its Brand Leading SOLASAFE products to 39 vessels currently being constructed and near to completion in 13 different South Korean shipyards.
Referring to three of the vessels involved, the article mentioned that the third vessel was built by Samsung and is a mid-size container ship of 11,000 teu capacity for prolific Taiwanese container ship owner, Evergreen Marine. At 134,869 dwt, Hull No. 2263, named EVER FAITH is 334 mts long with a 48.4 mt beam.
Subsequently, orders have been received for the supply of SOLASAFE roller sunscreens to a further 7 vessels in the series, EVER FOCUS, EVER FRONT, plus another 5.
All of them exact sister ships to the first ones. During the second quarter of 2020, the orders from South Korean yards were for a total of 924 screens for 69 vessels, including 259 SOLASAFE screens for the 7 Evergreen vessels.
John Lightfoot MBE, Chairman of parent company Solar Solve LTD, commented:
“A couple of years after launching Solar Solve Marine and the SOLASAFE sunscreen, I made my first marketing foray into the Far East to look at my screens being installed on board, what was then considered to be, a ground breaking, newly designed container-ship-of-the future at the Mitsubishi Kobe shipyard in Japan. At that time, the EVER REWARD series of vessels were being built to a radical container ship design, created by teams from the builder and the owner.”
He continued:
“That was 26 years ago and the first time I had heard of Evergreen, but we must have impressed them because since then, they have been specifying Solar Solve products for many of their enormous fleet of over 200 vessels ever since. Although Solar Solve is very successful in the Far East, we would not have achieved that accomplishment without the help, guidance and business acumen of our World Wide Distributor based in South Korea. We work very closely together to ensure our shipbuilding customers get the very best products and service, to always delight them.”
