SMI Returns to Posidonia
Finally, SMI made a return to Posidonia as organisers of the UK Pavilion at this flagship, international maritime event which took place in Athens during 6-10 June 2022. The exhibition was exceptionally well attended with 1,964 exhibiting companies from 88 countries represented and the overall number of participants, including exhibitors, delegates, visitors and press breaking records to exceed the 40,000 mark.
15 companies were present in the UK pavilion – our largest Posidonia group presence to date – which was officially opened by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Robert Courts MP who attended along with the British Ambassador to Greece, Matthew Lodge to spend time with UK companies during the first evening. SMI also supported, in partnership with Maritime London and the UK DIT, a morning seminar to ‘Address the Safety Concerns on the Road to Net Zero Shipping’ and UK companies were also invited to attend the Ambassador’s Reception at the Embassy Residence during a busy week of networking which included the Nautical Institute’s 30th anniversary celebrations in the Pavilion.
The four-year gap brought even more energy and a renewed optimism to the event and this was reflected in the excellent feedback we received from UK Pavilion exhibitors who reported that Posidonia had met objectives in 100% of cases as well as very healthy forward estimates of expected order value wins within 2 years of attending the show.
Posidonia returns in June 2024. Should you wish to register your interest in joining the UK Pavilion Group at the event, please contact Helen Stephen at your earliest opportunity.
