SMI Marketing and Operations Manager

About the role

The Marketing and Operations Manager plays a central role in the promotion and administration of SMI’s activities. The marketing function includes the administration of the database and web portal, the creation of electronic and hard copy marketing material, the publication of, as required, newsletters, annual directory and annual review. The role also encompasses SMI’s Data Protection Officer. Whereas the operations function includes the administration of events, exhibitions and missions in the UK and overseas and the administration associated with the retention and recruitment of members in support of the Council directors. Some of these tasks may be delegated to other administrative staff.

Candidate Specification

The candidate is expected to have an understanding of the marketing function. Attention to detail and efficiency in working is very important due to the small size of the team and volume of ongoing live projects. Experience in commercial matters is desirable with a confident and personable manner, able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing are crucial. The candidate must live within a daily commute of our central London office and no relocation package is offered. The job may involve travel both internationally and within the UK.
