SMI gears up to help members through the COVID-19 crisis
The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) has geared up to assist members through the current COVID-19 crisis.
SMI Chief Executive, John Murray, announced:
“We have created a special information page on our website with links to a variety of sources, including on how to access government funded assistance”.
He continued:
“Companies of all sizes have been impacted by the restrictions forced upon everybody by this pandemic and we are in regular contact with government providing briefings on how members are coping in the current business environment”.
Member companies are encouraged to keep SMI appraised of their circumstances and if they have encountered any difficulties with accessing the financial benefits announced by the Chancellor, Mr Rishi Sunak on 17 March.
In addition over the coming days SMI will be in touch will all members directly to offer guidance and assistance through this difficult time. We are also keen to hear what support and activity you would like SMI to provide through this period.
