SMI Board Welcomes New Directors
SMI’s Board is delighted to announce the election of 6 new Directors. Following on from a refresh of the Society’s Articles of Association an online election was held to expand representation on the Board, resulting in a significant increase in the range of experience and diversity on the Board.

Tom Chant, SMI’s Chief Executive said “I’m delighted to have this new influx of experience and insight brought to the Board. Each of these new Directors will help to drive the activities of the SMI executive team which works to champion our membership and industry.”
Rachel Connor, Marine Marketing Director, GE Power Conversion said, “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to help make energy a focus area at SMI and beyond - we have so much UK-wide capability and interest in it”.
Anu Khurmi, Managing Director, Templar Executives said, “I am delighted to be appointed as a Board member of the SMI and my thanks to the electorate. The maritime sector has a huge dependency on digitalisation and innovation to deliver sustainable initiatives. I believe the SMI, with its rich diversity and growing membership, has huge potential to further lead and collaborate on programmes and education that bring together the digital, technology and cyber agendas for the benefit of its members and the sector. I am looking forward to working with colleagues and contributing to this agenda.”
André Cocuccio, UK Director, Marico Marine Group said, "It’s a great privilege to join the SMI board and become part of an organisation so committed to promoting the UK maritime business sector. With much to achieve, I look forward to supporting Tom and the SMI team going forwards.”
