Scott Aerospace Secures Strategic MOD Contract to Support Royal Navy Submarines

Scott Aerospace has been awarded a new contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide in-service support for Submarine Mechanical and Secondary Steam Propulsion Equipment across the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
The contract runs for an initial three years, with options to extend by up to a further two years. It covers the supply of spares and repairs, technical services, and post-design support for key mechanical and steam propulsion systems, including:
Primary and Ancillary mechanical Systems, covering both first-level and non-first-level equipment and components.
Secondary Steam Propulsion equipment, including Main Steam System Valves, Auxiliary Steam System Valves, Steam Drains & Gland Steam System Valves, Main Steam Turbines, Turbo Generators (Mechanical), and associated steam and feed ancillary systems.
In addition to core equipment support, the contract includes obsolescence management, defect investigation and a dedicated Helpdesk. Task based engineering support will also be provided to ensure continued operational readiness across all platforms.
Scott Aerospace would like to thank its suppliers and especially the strategic partners – Allan Webb, Safeguard Engineering and Stone Marine Services for their invaluable support throughout the tender process. Their technical expertise and collaborative approach played a vital role in securing this important contract.
This is a significant win for Scott Aerospace, a UK-based SME, and marks the start of a new relationship with the Submarine Delivery Agency. The award reinforces the company’s growing role in supporting critical Royal Navy capabilities and demonstrates the MOD’s confidence in our ability to deliver agile, responsive, and expert support in a complex operational environment.
Mark Kelly, Director of Scott Aerospace, said:
“We are honoured to have been selected to deliver this vital programme. This equipment is at the heart of the nation’s undersea warfare capability, and through this contract we will deliver best in class equipment provision, technical expertise and lifecycle support to ensure the Royal Navy’s submarines remain safe, capable and ready for operations.”
