Planet Ocean sign distribution agreement with -4H-JENA engineering GmbH, Germany
Planet Ocean will now be introducing the other -4H-JENA range of marine technology products.
Following the purchase of the CONTROS range of instruments by -4H-JENA they are delighted to announce that as well as continuing to offer the world class range of CONTROS dissolved gas technology for CH4, CO2, PCO2, pH and Total Alkalinity;
-4H-JENA produce custom FerryBox systems for installation in vessels, designed to suit each individual application with sensors, processing telemetry and mechanical configuration to meet the specific application.
In addition, the Underwater Node systems provide the necessary infrastructure in terms of electrical power and data connections to continuously operate complex sensor systems having high power consumption on the seafloor and are eminently suitable for the CONTROS dissolved gas systems.
Often deployed in shallow water, (< 300 m) the underwater node can be installed with a cable connection to shore up to 30 km offshore (3 nodes connected in series, each 10 km distance to shore) for year-round operation. Thus, providing the opportunity for a continuous observation of processes in the oceans and coastal areas.
For more than 25 years, -4H-JENA engineering GmbH, founded in 1991, has been an independent, competent partner in the development and production of customer-specific measurement solutions.
It currently has 40 permanent employees who work in 3 product areas on the development, production, and sales of optical, mechanical, and electronic components, devices, and systems. Up to 18 employees are involved in research and development tasks in cooperation with German and European universities and colleges. The product areas are subdivided into:
- Marine Technologies
- Optical Inspection and Measurement Technologies
- Industrial Services
The Marine Technologies division of -4H-JENA engineering GmbH with its CONTROS sensors is a market leader in the development and production of in-situ underwater sensors, analyzers as well as applications focused on sensor systems for the determination of e.g. pCO2, pCH4, pH, and total alkalinity in aquatic environments. -4H-JENA furthermore develops and markets integrated monitoring solutions (FerryBoxes, sensors, platforms, data handling) for a range of industrial and scientific applications (i.e. environmental water monitoring, ocean acidification/greenhouse gas monitoring, hydrocarbon early leak detection systems, methane hydrate field background and production monitoring, limnology and inland waters, aquaculture/fish farming).
-4H-JENA has a strong track record in innovative industry/science collaboration represented by a multitude of accomplished national and international research projects. www.4h-jena.de
