New SMI Chair - Congratulations Brian and Elizabeth

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is today announcing that Brian Johnson of BAE Systems has been elected as its new Chair after Russell Gould of Hensoldt UK, stepped down.  Brian has a strong history with SMI having been Chair of the Maritime Defence & Security Group and more recently an elected board member. 

Tom Chant, Chief Executive of SMI, said:

Brian Johnson said:

"Having worked with SMI for more than a decade I am proud to be elected Chair. BAE Systems is a long standing member of the Society and I am pleased to have their support as I take up this role. I would like to thank the outgoing Chair, Russell Gould for all he has done and I look forward to taking SMI forward over the next three years, working with the rest of the Board and our Executive Team."
 
Brian will be supported by a new Vice Chair, Elizabeth Paull, Managing Director of Chelsea Technologies.
