The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Modern Slavery Statement
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is committed to playing its part in the eradication of modern slavery.
Following the publication of the first UK Government Modern Slavery Statement in March 2020, the MOD has on 25th November 2021 published its first annual departmental Modern Slavery Statement. The statement provides more granular detail about the actions the department has taken during the financial year to tackle modern slavery in MOD operations and supply chains, and allows the public to see how the MOD are implementing anti-slavery policies, mitigating risks and tracking progress.
The statement outlines the initial steps the MOD has taken to prevent modern slavery in defence supply chains and to be transparent about the areas where it needs suppliers to improve. They have also set themselves a number of goals and will report back in 2022 on progress.
They have broken the content down into the below subsections and you can read the full statement here.
