Landmark Move for Robosys Supporting Global Expansion With New Headquarters

The advanced maritime autonomy software developer, Robosys Automation, has celebrated the opening of its new UK headquarters in Southampton, UK, in support of the company’s global expansion.
Robosys Automation’s flagship software, VOYAGER AI, is utilised by unmanned surface vessels (USVs), workboats, ships as well as and subsea craft for operations including surveying, monitoring, and hydrographic.
The system enables vessels to operate uncrewed, or as lean crewed, which increases safety, lowers operating overheads, reduces carbon, and increases accuracy.
Representatives from national and international commerce, defence, and academia came together at the unveiling of the new head office located in Hamble, near Southampton.
The new office features workshops and administration offices to accommodate Robosys’ growing team, which consists of software developers, technologists, vessel integrators, and administration staff.
The new headquarters are also adjacent to Southampton Water which have the added benefit of a launching ramp close to the premises, enabling the swift deployment of craft for commissioning and testing.
Stuart Baker, the Executive Director of The Solent Cluster and MD of Maritime UK Solent officially opened the facility in front of 60 attendees.
He stated that as a founding member and stalwart supporter, that Maritime UK Solent was rightly proud of the impressive growth experienced by Robosys since it first opened in the UK, and of its pledge to help make seagoing operations safer, smarter and cleaner.
Stuart Baker also congratulated Robosys having recently won numerous awards across international partnerships, inspired technological development, maritime future skills, and business development.
Robosys’ CEO and Founder, Aditya Nawab, who originally conceived and developed VOYAGER AI provided an insight into the genesis of the system, which enables any boat or ship to become fully autonomous whether a new-build vessel, or currently in operation.
Nigel Lee, CSO of Robosys announced recent news including the launch of a new autonomous trials boat located in the US, which is being used for testing and customer trials. In addition, the boat has full over-the-horizon autonomous control capabilities via Robosys’ UK, US, Canadian or Indian remote operations centres.
He also referenced Robosys’ work with South Hampshire College Group which, last year which acquired a Digital Training Vessel through a pioneering project lead by Robosys, for students in further education to develop future skills across engineering, AI, robotics, and remote operations across maritime and other sectors.
Aditya Nawab commented: “Today is a landmark day for Robosys Automation, seeing the culmination of contract wins, an expanding product portfolio, a loyal customer-base, and a superb team.”
The event was attended by representation from Robosys’ customers, partners, supporters, and the media including AcuaOcean, National Oceanography Centre’s Innovation Hub, ePropulsion, Stehr Consulting, Aquafax, OSI Maritime, RAD Propulsion, MOD, Dendrityca, UST, Proteum, DCA, Evolve Dynamics, Persistent Systems, Watermark Communications, Level Peaks, Royal Navy and Furuno.
