GE Vernova Leaders Meet Clean Power Team at No. 10 Downing Street

GE Vernova recently highlighted the critical role of its UK manufacturing sites in shaping the future of energy at a meeting with the Clean Power team at No. 10 Downing Street. Andy Cooper, Clar Collins and Craig Jones represented the company, showcasing how GE Vernova is helping deliver a more reliable and sustainable energy future while supporting economic growth across the country.
With major manufacturing facilities in Rugby, Stafford, and Redhill, GE Vernova has a long-standing history in the UK dating back to 1902. Its Power Conversion & Storage business designs advanced electric motor, synchronous condenser, and control technologies that enhance energy efficiency, power stability, and decarbonisation for sectors including defence and rail. At sea, the company provides microgrid solutions and electric propulsion for vessels such as the Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth Class carriers and the Sleipnir wind farm installation vessel.
The company’s Stafford site, home to the UK’s only large-scale High-Voltage grid manufacturing facility, is undergoing expansion that will double capacity and add around 100 new roles. In Redhill, GE Vernova continues to grow its Grid Automation and HVDC manufacturing capabilities, supporting the development of digital substations and advanced power transmission solutions.
The visit to No. 10 provided an opportunity to showcase GE Vernova’s contributions to the UK’s energy infrastructure and its ongoing role in driving innovation, job creation, and decarbonisation across the power sector.
