DIT Webinar: R&D and Service Opportunity for Subsea Pipeline Retrieval In Brazil
The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) is pleased to invite you to join us in the webinar: R&D and Service Opportunity for Subsea Pipeline Retrieval In Brazil. This event is a partnership with Petrobras and the Net Zero Technology Center.
Petrobras is facing the challenge of recovering by reels hundreds of kilometres of flexible pipelines from the Marlim Field (WD around 1250m), whereas some of which do not have the necessary structural integrity guarantee to be retrieved in this water depth. In addition, there are currently a reduced number of operational bases that support vessels of the size of PLSVs.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop alternative methods and tools for retrieving flexible pipelines by reels, with the catenary reduced to approximately 50m and using small vessels.
This Webinar aims to explain in more detail this challenge to be solved in partnership with the invited companies and also to present a possible solution proposed by Petrobras, consisting on a Subsea Reel Drive.
