Come Onboard for the MCA’s Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships Meeting

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is hosting a Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) stakeholder engagement meeting.
The MCA aims to promote safety at sea by proactively addressing technological advancements.
On 2 July 2025, an online meeting will take place to share updates and gather input from industry representatives regarding MASS vessels under 24 metres in length.
Representatives and stakeholders from across the sector—including operators, crew, and customers—are invited to participate.
The discussions will cover a broad range of topics related to MASS (up to 24 metres), with key points including:
General Exemptions published last year (MGN 702 and MGN 705)
Workboat Code Edition 3
Best practices for being a good neighbour on the water.
Attendance is limited to 50 participants, with one space available per organisation to maximise sector-wide representation.
