Cammell Laird and A&P Group Join Forces to Form APCL Group LTD
In a strategic move set to reshape the shipbuilding and ship repair landscape, Cammell Laird and A&P Group, have merged to create APCL Group LTD. This newly formed entity will serve as an umbrella organisation, overseeing the operations of A&P Group and Cammell Laird, both revered for their exceptional expertise in the maritime industry.
Under the APCL banner, this merger also encompasses ship repair and project management specialist A&P Australia and UK-based Neway Industrial Services. While each company will preserve its unique identity, this consolidation under APCL Group positions the entity as a significantly larger and more impactful player in the market.
APCL Group LTD's establishment enables the development of a comprehensive 'all of one' company approach, particularly concerning major contracts. This strategic move aligns with the group’s ambition of attaining Tier One status, enhancing its influence and capabilities. With operational presence in key locations such as the North East, Falmouth, North West, and Australia, APCL Group emerges as a truly global entity, poised to bolster its standing on the international stage.
Crucially, it's imperative to note that the ownership structure of each company remains unchanged, with shareholders retaining their positions. David McGinley, CEO of APCL Group LTD, expressed the significance of this merger, stating, "Each individual company will retain its proud heritage, identity, and history, but being part of APCL Group will enable them all to work more closely together and develop synergies for the benefit of both the company and the customer."
In today's interconnected global marketplace, APCL Group's unified voice, collaborative approach, and shared knowledge and expertise across its global operations underline its commitment to better serve valued customers and stakeholders. This merger marks a pivotal moment in the maritime industry, creating a robust and forward-looking entity prepared to meet the evolving needs of the industry and its clients.
