Babcock International Group PLC (Babcock or the Group) Director appointment

Babcock is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Andrew Parker as an independent non-executive director.  He will join the Board with immediate effect.

Sir Andrew has had a long career in a wide range of national security and intelligence roles in the UK, which culminated in him becoming the Director General of MI5, the UK Government's national security agency, in 2013.  He retired from the role earlier this year.  As Director General, Sir Andrew focused on new technology-centred change and championed inclusion.  He will bring the benefit of his extensive experience of working at the highest level of public service to the Board.

Babcock also announces that Sir David Omand has informed the Board of his intention to retire after 11 years of service at the end of the current financial year.  The Board would like to thank Sir David for his contribution to Babcock both as an Independent Non-Executive Director and as a former Senior Independent Director.  The Board wishes him well for the future.
