Summary
This year’s annual conference is themed around the refresh of the UK’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, currently underway within Government and supported by the joint Government, industry and academia Maritime Enterprise Working Group.
The title ‘Building the future of the UK’s shipbuilding enterprise’, reflects the broadening of the National Shipbuilding Strategy to increase the focus on commercial shipbuilding, the supply chain and encompass the workboats and leisure sectors also.
Split over two days, 1000-1300 on each day, the conference will provide an opportunity to hear about the latest thinking and plans for the future of our enterprise and a chance to engage in the debate and influence its development through an enduring community portal.
Confirmed speakers include Robert Courts MP, Minister for Maritime; Amanda Sollow MP, Minister for Research and Innovation; Graham Stuart MP, Minister for Exports; Vice Admiral Nick Hine CB Second Sea Lord and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and double olympic sailing champion Iain Percy, Artemis Technologies, amongst a host of other senior government and industry figures.
Hosted on a bespoke online platform with opportunities for networking and round table discussions, attendance at the conference will also allow enduring access to a community portal hosting the conference materials, the UK shipbuilding enterprise Rich Picture content and an ongoing forum for information and debate on the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
