Annual SMI Reception & Buffet Luncheon for Foreign Naval Attachés and Advisers in London
Sponsored by BAE Systems, Hensoldt UK and Northrop Grumman Corporation UK

INTRODUCTION
The Society of Maritime Industries will once again be hosting the foreign naval attachés & advisers based in London at a reception and buffet luncheon.
The event will be held on board HQS Wellington which is the livery hall and prestigious home of The Honourable Company of Master Mariners. The ship, with its elegant Court Room between decks, is moored on the Thames in central London. The date and time are set for Thursday 13 October at 1200.
This is a well-established opportunity to meet and lunch with the official naval representatives from potential customer countries. It is also a good occasion to network with representatives from the National Shipbuilding Office, Department for International Trade (MCCO) and Ministry of Defence (Naval Staff) as well as the wider Defence Industry as the event is also open to non-SMI members. More than one representative from each company will be most welcome.
COST
This year’s event is kindly being sponsored by SMI members Hensoldt UK and Northrop Grumman Corporation UK, allowing subsidised ticket prices of:
- £150 +VAT (total £180) for all members of the Society of Maritime Industries.
- £200 + VAT (total £240.00) for all other industry attendees.
PROGRAMME
The reception will be held, weather permitting, on the quarter-deck and will be followed by a buffet luncheon in the Court Room. This will allow everyone to circulate freely and meet the various attachés and advisers as much as possible. Luncheon will begin on completion of the reception at about 1300 and should be over by about 1500.
We have had a good response from the Naval Attache Community so far, as well as UK Government representatives from the NSO, MCCO and Naval Staff. A list of attachés and advisers who have accepted the invitation, together with a list of Government and defence industry persons attending will be available on the day.
Space is limited and the event is likely to be over-subscribed. You are therefore invited to apply early.
Cut-off date for applications is Friday 7 October 2022.
A map will be dispatched with the acknowledgement of all applications and confirmation that a place has been allocated for you.
Refunds of charges paid will only be made for cancellations in accordance with the Terms & Conditions on the booking page and cannot be made for cancellations received after Tuesday 5 October 2022.
