SMI Success at Nor Shipping

Nor Shipping 2019 brought together 7 companies in the UK pavilion at this important European exhibition.

Norwegian shipowners and the offshore industry based there are an important element of many companies client lists.  With the return of the Chinese shipbuilders to the exhibition the floor space was fuller which boosts the atmosphere of the show.

ACM Bearings, Production Director Mike Stevens said,

“Busy show, with some good opportunities generated from European and global companies".  This underlines the wide international visitor range for the exhibition, 30,170 unique entries from 85 nationalities.

IMG 1732Stuart McKenna, Director at Cleanship said,

“This was Cleanship Solutions first time attending Nor-Shipping and the atmosphere was generally positive and up beat in line with the general recovery of the industry. We had many interesting and insightful conversations with existing and new clients in which we forecast for potential new business in the coming months. We were extremely pleased with the prominent stand location that we were given in the British pavilion and in return the footfall was generally high during the four days. Overall this was a very positive and successful event for us.”

Cleanship were one of the 846 exhibitors from 47 nations.

Tom Chant, of SMI said,

“We moved into Hall D for this edition and were very pleased with the location which was on the main aisle.  The exhibitors had positive feedback on the show and have opportunities to follow up on but also they have gathered useful knowledge on competitors, clients and prospects – all the hard to quantify benefits from being at an exhibition.  I’m looking forward to returning to the very efficient city of Oslo in 2021”.

UK Maritime Minister Nusrat Ghani visited the exhibition and conference on the opening day and spent time with each pavilion company to understand their products and service and hear their issues. An additional bonus for the UK pavilion exhibitors was being invited to the Queen’s official birthday celebrations at the British Ambassador’s Residence.

In true British garden party fashion a major thunderstorm unleashed itself during the party but being Brits and Norwegians it didn’t dampen the atmosphere.
