SMI launch its new visual identity.

SMI is delighted to launch its new visual identity.  The process of analysing the brand and values of SMI has given us real insight into the way we communicate and act and the team is feeling refreshed and focussed to deliver our core ambition statement… 

“Be the voice, and champion the cause, of our/the UK maritime engineering, marine science & technology and business services members/sector.“ 

SMI Board members, Council Chairs, and SMI team members contributed to the analysis and feedback on values and ambitions which has driven the design process.  The “SMI” letters are bold and strong to stand out well on crowded pages and emphasise an authority.  The propeller device is synonymous with maritime and comes with unique colours on the master logo and a wireframe engineering look on sub-logos.  Exporters will also have a strong UK focused logo to use overseas. 

Tom Chant, Chief Executive, said “Undertaking this exercise over the last 3 months has been a real pleasure as it has made us all analyse SMI’s role and particularly its values.  The new identity takes us on into 2021 and beyond with an energised team ready to work on behalf of the membership/sector.”
