SMI member Watson, Farley and Williams LLP was the venue for a ports and terminals roundtable with the Egyptian Minister for Transportation, Lt General Kamel El Wazir, and distinguished delegation which included the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Authority, Eng Yehia Zaki.

The Minister and Mr Zaki outlined their country’s ambitious plans to redevelop the ports at each end of the Sue Canal as a major hub for international trade in the region.  A major expansion of the Suez Canal was completed at the end of 2016 and the discussions centred around the developments to provide additional container, bulk, ferry and cruise terminals supported by major infrastructure improvements to the hinterland with road and rail connections.
