Aish Technologies Success Following on from Euronaval

Dorset-based defence technology solutions provider Aish Technologies exhibited recently at the world’s largest international exhibition of Naval Defence Technologies, and as a result of contacts made are now in discussions with a number of potential and existing customers around the world including in Australia.

Euronaval was held in Paris at Le Bourget Exhibition Centre, and exhibitors from all over the world included Airbus, Thales, BAE Systems, MBDA and Boeing. The event celebrated its 50th year in 2018 and is used as an opportunity for the Naval Defence industry to come together to network and view the very latest products and services on offer to this growing market sector.

Aish Technologies used the exhibition to display its extensive range of capabilities in the design and manufacture of bespoke electro mechanical equipment for use on board surface ships and submarines.

Aish Technologies exhibited alongside Aeronautical & General Instruments Ltd, who displayed their expertise in Hydrography, Oceanography and Marine Environment as well as Communication, Information and Navigation systems. Both companies are now part of the AGI Holdings Group.

Since the exhibition, Aish has begun discussions with the Australian Department of Defence as part of their Australian Industry Capability (AIC) programme. This provides opportunities for Australian companies to compete for defence work in Australia and overseas and also encourages investment in Australian industry. Under the AIC programme, Project SEA 5000 seeks to ensure the Australian Navy will manufacture its own warships from 2020 with the UK’s brand new Type 26 Frigate one of the design options being considered, on which Aish has been a key supplier to BAE.

Ian Campbell, Head of Sales for Aish, was delighted with the success of the Euronaval show:

“This was an opportunity for both Aish and AGI to demonstrate a clear commitment to the Naval Defence sector, and the response we received from existing and potential customers was excellent. We have already seen a return in terms of meaningful discussions and hope to secure new business around the world as a direct result of the show. With the acquisition of Aish into the AGI Holdings group, we have strengthened our position in this important market sector, and we look forward to further success in 2019.”
