Gain a competitive advantage by demonstrating your awareness and preparedness for cyber security.  Shipyards, ship owners and managers will increasingly look at the supply chains digital resilience as pressure is also put on them by class societies, insurance industry and regulators.

The SMI’s Digital Technology Group has organised an expert from leading consultancy BMT Global to give a briefing on how being cyber secure can help you win business in this increasingly digital dependent world.

It is undoubtedly one of the big challenges facing our sector in the coming years.  In a positive move to boost cyber resilience the IMO has formally adopted the regulation MSC.428 (98). The regulation ‘ENCOURAGES Administrations to ensure that cyber risks are appropriately addressed in safety management systems no later than the first annual verification of the company's Document of Compliance after 1 January 2021.’

With one year to go before the deadline, this short 20 minute webinar will look to lift the lid on the regulation and explores the implications for the sector.

The main focus will be on offering a business centric perspective that encourages organisations to view the looming deadline through a lens of competitive advantage. More specifically, we will be exploring options for organisations to leverage the new regulatory demands to boost their own competitive position and ultimately secure financial benefit.

Cyber security can be seen as a pure cost, but let’s be opportunistic, turn the tables and make these new security demands work for you…
