By almost any measure, China is the leading global shipbuilder with 1,338 vessels on order in October 2017.  With China becoming so important for the UK supply chain the SMI has chosen the Inmex China show to enable UK companies to exhibit in the alternate year to the Marintec China show in Shanghai.  It is geographically a different region and provides access to local yards with good transport links via nearby Hong Kong.  The show is also targeting the Cruise market sector as more Chinese yards are looking into these opportunities.  The SMI are looking to organise a yard visit pre-show to provide even greater value to exhibiting UK companies.

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is the organiser for the UK Group.

The advantages of joining the UK Group are:
  • SMI as the group organiser, deals direct with the Inmex China 2018 exhibition organisers, co-ordinates payments, appoints agents and stand contractors which enables us to create better deals and stand locations for exhibitors
  • Participants exhibit in the UK pavilion with strong visual UK branding which attracts visitors and international delegations.
  • A business lounge exclusive to the UK Group will be provided and a prime location within the exhibition hall for the UK Group has already been reserved.  The space we have been allocated is next to the Norwegian and Dutch pavilions.
  • SMI facilitates exhibitors, where eligible, in obtaining DIT grants for offsetting the costs of their participation.
Stand Package

Each stand will include walls, fascia board with company name and stand number, carpet, electricity supply, 2 fluorescent lights, 2 spotlights, 1 power point (13 amp), 3 folding chairs, 1 information desk, 1 table, 1 dustbin and stand cleaning service. Other items – such as plinths, shelves and furniture – can be supplied against the contractor’s tariff.

Draft visual of the stands can be found in the registration form
