Join us for a unique forum to exchange ideas on satellite based services for the maritime space.

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) Marine Science & Technology Group (MSTG) have joined with the Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC) to generate a forum for the exchange of ideas and information. The objective of the SAC is to boost UK productivity by helping organisations harness the power of satellite based services.

No longer do oil majors, defence primes and ship managers want individual components, they want solutions and the transfer of data via satellites is a major component of the solution. So understanding what providers are out there and the different technologies available is of crucial importance for the maritime industries.

The forum will also provide opportunities for the maritime industries to highlight what they need from these providers.

Programme is as follows:

  • 10.00:
Autonaut, Phil Johnston, The Challenges of Satellite Communications for the Maritime Sector
  • 10.30:
Satellite Applications Catapult, Sean McCarthy, Latest in Sat Comms; GPS; Earth Observation
