Leading UK-based engineering services company Romica Engineering has been granted membership of The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) as it looks to increase its presence across a range of sectors and unlock new markets.
The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is established across the globe as the leading representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry worldwide.
Romica, with its headquarters in Beverley, East Yorkshire, is one of the world’s leading designers, consultants, manufacturers, build to print providers and suppliers of lifting, handling, pulling equipment and systems. Its products are widely used within the offshore, marine, renewables, ports and terminals, oil and gas and oceanographic sectors.
It has been granted LEEA membership after undergoing a technical audit of its operations by the organisation. It now joins more than 1,000 member companies worldwide, including many major players in the sector.
Carl Richmond, recently appointed to a business development role at Romica, believes membership will help the growing business as it looks to further target non-marine opportunities such as port development, process refineries, civil engineering, flood control and the chemical, rail and energy sectors.
“We are delighted to have been granted membership of this well respected global body. Gaining that membership is part of our overall strategy to diversify our customer base. We believe that LEEA membership will help us to open up a new network of valuable industry contacts.
“LEEA is established across the globe as the leading representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry. The membership we have achieved also further highlights the standards we have reached and our determination to continue to develop the skills and knowledge that we have in the business.”
Romica owner and Managing Director Bob Turner said:
