Romica joins global industry body to unlock new markets

Leading UK-based engineering services company Romica Engineering has been granted membership of The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) as it looks to increase its presence across a range of sectors and unlock new markets.

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is established across the globe as the leading representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry worldwide.

Romica, with its headquarters in Beverley, East Yorkshire, is one of the world’s leading designers, consultants, manufacturers, build to print providers and suppliers of lifting, handling, pulling equipment and systems. Its products are widely used within the offshore, marine, renewables, ports and terminals, oil and gas and oceanographic sectors.

It has been granted LEEA membership after undergoing a technical audit of its operations by the organisation. It now joins more than 1,000 member companies worldwide, including many major players in the sector.

Romica joins global industry body to unlock new markets - Carl RichmondCarl Richmond, recently appointed to a business development role at Romica, believes membership will help the growing business as it looks to further target non-marine opportunities such as port development, process refineries, civil engineering, flood control and the chemical, rail and energy sectors.

The company also offers comprehensive global after sales support, the refurbishment and modification of existing equipment and systems as well as full electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic support.

Product types include, complete lifting and handling systems, A-frames, handling booms, conveyor systems, davit cranes, jacking systems, power transmissions, structural steelwork, winches and hoists.

Romica has a 7,000m² custom-built manufacturing facility, which includes four overhead cranes with 12.5 tonnes lifting capacity with an 8mtr clearance below the hook, machine tools, CNC, milling, boring, fusion welding equipment, we have independent, indoor, shot blasting and paint booth facilities, which can accommodate pieces up to 12m in length, weighing to 12.5 tonnes.
