MEMBER ONLY Networking Discussion Event: How will quantum technologies impact marine science?

Wednesday 13 September 2017 | 1100-1300
28-29 Threadneedle Street, London, EC2R 8AY

THIS IS A MEMBER ONLY EVENT

Everything in the natural world can be described by quantum mechanics.  It has guided the development of everyday technologies from lasers to MRI machines and put a solid foundation under astrophysicists.

We now have what is being called the second quantum revolution as the theory’s more straightforward predictions are put into practice.  Predictions are of quantum applications such as unjammable underwater navigation with GPS like accuracy and the monitoring and detection of subsea floor of oil and gas in 5-15 years.

Quantum mechanics has gained a reputation for being counterintuitive and even downright spooky so come and find out how the UK is developing its expertise in this fascinating area of technology. An understanding of quantum mechanics is not required.

SPEAKERS

1. Richard Murray, who led the Innovate UK programs on quantum technology and is now at Teledyne

2. Gillian Marshall, from Qinetiq who is in charge of commercialising the technology within the company

PRICE

£20 per head charge on the day which includes the networking sandwich lunch

Places are strictly limited in the boardroom and therefore a first come first served policy will be adopted and, if necessary, limited to one delegate per company. THIS IS A MEMBER ONLY EVENT.
